So, just a few steps to set this up.
As a new computer user, haven’t you experienced a situation whereby you plug-in your modem and connect using the modem software installed, to find it hard surfing the net whenever you launch your browser. Why? Just that the Local connection (dial-up) hasn’t be connected.
Note that: (1) You must have installed your Modem on your PC
(2) After connecting the Modem to network, you must also dial-up the connection to successfully connect to internet.
Note that this applies to Windows 7 and XP
1 ==> Click on start button > Control panel
2 ==> Click on Network and Sharing Center(Network and Internet connections)
3 ==> Click Setup a new connection or Network (Setup or Change your Internet Connection) > Click Setup button
4 ==> Select Setup a dial-up connection (Connect using Dial-up Modem > Click Next
5 ==> In space provided for name, enter your desired name e.g. Donnet
In the Phone Number field, enter *99#
You can also enter desired password if prompted, you can check or uncheck further options
Click Connect (Next)
Thus, a dial-up connection will be set for your Modem.
